The Brahma Kumaris Foundation Course
Raja Yoga Meditation
A path to self-knowledge, inner peace and personal power
Westerners invariably think of yoga as a series of physical poses to keep human bodies relaxed, flexible and fit. But that is only a small part of the spiritual discipline of yoga, as practiced for millennia by the ancient cultures of Asia.
“Yoga, in Sanskrit, means to completely know yourself and to be at peace in yourself. It is not possible to define this peace except to say it is freedom from all suffering, freedom from doubt and freedom from confusion. A natural blessedness unfolds in you as you feel this peace and you increasingly realize this as the core essence of your life.” – Padma (Marla Stewart)
The Raja Yoga Meditation course provides a framework for understanding who you truly are and for understanding the relationship between spirit and matter. Raja Yoga meditation facilitates the inward journey in an efficient and effective way, with plenty of practical actions to promote inner peace and spiritual growth. It will help you re-discover and use positive qualities already latent within you. You will discover an inner peace and inner power that makes it possible for you to respond to life from a place of clarity and self-control, rather than from a place of reactivity. It is a call to consciousness that will enable you to change anything about yourself that you would like to change. And when we change, the world changes.
The Raja Yoga meditation course consists of 3 to 7 lessons – sometimes offered as a series of one- or half-day retreats and sometimes as a series of shorter lessons.
