When we learn to control our thoughts, we learn to be in control of and not at the mercy of external circumstances. That is real power.
Politically, socially and economically, life in South Africa is tough. Many people live in a constant state of negativity. At a personal level this gives rise to high levels of anxiety, stress, depression, suicide, conflict and many other ills.
Yet, it is possible to be in control of the impact of external circumstances when we learn to be in control of our thoughts. It is possible to step back and observe our habitual patterns of negative or unhelpful thoughts, without getting caught up in them. It is possible to train our minds to focus on positive, empowering thoughts and return to our natural state of being, which is positive.
When thoughts are pure and positive … that leads to peace and then to power.
